SUSTAINABILITY AND GREEN KEY ECOLABEL
Tallink Hotels cares about the environment and, as a responsible company, takes into account the principles of sustainable development on a daily basis. As confirmation of this, all Tallink hotels are certified with the Green Key eco-label.
Environmental sustainability is a focus at Tallink Hotels on a daily basis and in all activities. Hotels and restaurants are increasingly using local raw materials and products from local businesses to shorten the supply chain. We also purchase products that are eco-labelled and produced in the most environmentally friendly way possible. Emphasis is also placed on sorting waste by type, and by joining the Ringo packaging recycling system, we contribute to reducing the amount of packaging waste. In addition, Tallink Hotels has collaborated with fashion designer Xenia Joost, who used old hotel bed sheets to create her collection, thereby creating sustainable fashion.
The ecological footprint is also reduced by saving paper, such as by using small stickers instead of room card pockets. In hotel rooms, disposable bathroom cosmetics have been replaced with large refill bottles, and room cleaning is offered at environmentally friendly intervals, encouraging guests to forgo it altogether if possible. Guests are also involved in other environmentally friendly activities, inspiring them to save water, energy and food, such as by encouraging them to avoid piling excessive amounts of food on their plate at breakfast. When moving around the building, the hotel recommends using the stairs instead of elevators and environmentally friendly modes of transportation when enjoying the sights in the city.
