Ethnographic Workshops at Estonian National Museum
The brand new Estonian National Museum offers some unusal ethnographic workshops for culture and history lovers. One can take part in Bronze spirals workshops, where you will learn an ancient technique of weaving coiled tubes in pattern; Cutting grass with a scythe for those who are interested in gaining the grim reaper skill; or Make a sauna whisk. This workshop is specially for sauna fan and lovers. There is no authentic sauna without your fellow sauna-goer slapping you all over with a proper fresh sauna whisk. You will learn different ways of making sauna whisks, and how and when to collect the proper material for the them.
These workshops were recently huge success as a side programme for the 14th International Cognitive Linguistics Conference which took place in Tartu in July 2017.
