First Estonian restaurant to receive two Michelin stars announced

Michelin has announced the second edition of the Michelin Guide Estonia, which features 34 of the best restaurants in the country. This year marks an important milestone, as 180° BY MATTHIAS DIETHER becomes the first restaurant in Estonia to be awarded two Michelin Stars.

The Michelin inspectors of 180° by Matthias Diether were particularly impressed by the intricacy of the cooking, but also by how the various elements all work supremely well together. Sitting within a modern harbor development outside the city center is this stylish restaurant named after the 180° view from its U-shaped open kitchen. After drinks and snacks in the restaurant’s futuristic bar, guests can choose whether to have the 4-course tasting menu ‘Flavours of 180 Degrees’ or the 6-course tasting menu ‘Matthias’ Inspiration’. All come with a choice of one of three drink pairings: two wine-based and one non-alcoholic.

In addition, NOA CHEF’S HALL in Tallinn, which is run by chef-owner Tõnis Siiguri, has retained its One Michelin Star status. The inspectors described the cooking as “accomplished and confident, resulting in dishes that are expertly balanced and very satisfying.”
