Kayak tour in Tallinn
Ready to see Tallinn from a whole new angle? This 3-4 hour kayaking adventure is perfect for beginners and seasoned paddlers alike! The group will glide along Estonia’s capital, enjoying a unique waterbird’s-eye view of Tallinn’s “medievally modern” skyline, with a splash of history thrown in for good measure.
As the group paddles past eight different ports, they’ll take in a collection of military vessels and get a peek at Peter the Great’s marine castle, not to mention the infamous, seldom-visited Patarei prison from the NKVD days. Next up is the serene Paljassaare Peninsula, where participants can stretch their legs with a walk along the sandy shores of Pikakari Beach—Tallinn’s closest birdwatching haven. Then it’s time to paddle back, taking in the towers, spires, and the iconic onion dome of the Russian Orthodox cathedral as the city’s skyline sweeps gracefully into view.
The adventure kicks off in the city center, just a short walk from the Old Town at Linnahall. With a leisurely 9 km of paddling and a tour duration of about 3-4 hours, this is an easy-level trip that doesn’t require any previous kayaking experience. Plus, the group will receive a full briefing before setting out—so they’ll be ready to conquer the waters of Tallinn! (And if the weather has other plans, the route can be adjusted. Flexibility is key!)
